Gjergij Kastroti Skanderbeg was a son of the prince of Kruja, given as
hostage to the sultan Murad II.
He became an Ottoman general, and twenty years later he converted to
Catholicism and leaded Albanians against the Ottoman forces.
He’s the national hero of Albania. Hm… strange, if you keep in mind that
Islam is the biggest religion there…
And yes, if you’ve got a moment read the Myth of Skanderbeg…
A beautiful building in the background and very historic place!
