The Bridge on the Drina River, Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Between the fear that something would happen and the hope that still it wouldn't, there is much more space than one thinks. On that narrow, hard, bare and dark space a lot of us spend our lives.
― Ivo Andrić

The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge created in XVI century, written on the UNESCO world heritage list is mostly known because of the book “The Bridge on the Drina River” by Yugoslav writer Ivo Andrić, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961.
