The Latin Bridge, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Latin Bridge is
the most known bridge over Miljacka river in Sarajevo. It’s the place of infamous Sarajevo
Assassination. Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophia were shot by
Gavrilo Princip in 1914, which caused the beginning of WWI.
Behind the bridge, you
see Museum Sarajevo 1878-1918.

Gazi Husrev Bey Madrassa, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

just in front of the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque. The entrance door is often
closed, but maybe you’ll be lucky. Gazi
Husrev Bey Madrassa is the oldest surviving madrassa in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Old Bridge, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
It was built in 1566, completely destroyed in the war 1992-1995,
reconstructed in 2004 and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005.
According to UNESCO “The
Old Bridge area, with its pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean and
western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a
multicultural urban settlement. To reconstructed Old Bridge and Old City of
Mostar is a symbol of reconciliation, international co-operation and of the
coexistence of diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities”.

The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge created in XVI
century, written on the UNESCO world heritage list is mostly known because of
the book “The Bridge on the Drina River” by Yugoslav writer Ivo Andrić, winner
of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961.
